Tony Stoller

Tony is a member of the Competition Commission and of the shadow Competition and Markets Authority, Chair of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, and editor of the Friends Quarterly. A visiting professor in media history at Bournemouth University, Tony has authored the definitive history of Independent Radio in the UK, Sounds of Your Life.

He was Chief Executive of The Radio Authority until it was subsumed into Ofcom in 2003, where he helped to set up the new regulator. He was previously managing director of Tyrrell & Green department store, as a principal director of the John Lewis Partnership, and managing director of Radio 210, which held the commercial radio licence for Reading.
