Make a nomination for a 2021 Trustees’ Award for Broadcasting in the Time of Corona

Nominations are being invited for two new categories for coronavirus-related content as part of the Sandford St Martin 2021 broadcasting awards.

The Content Award is for broadcasting that explored coronavirus, the pandemic or lockdown through a religious lens.  This could include news reports, factual programmes, drama or entertainment. Judges will be looking for original storytelling about or in response to COVID-19 that directly engages with faith or belief.

The Community Award is for broadcasting that supported or maintained religious or belief communities during the pandemic. This could include broadcast celebration, worship, outreach or training. Judges will be looking for impactful examples of people’s religious or spiritual needs being addressed or solved despite the implications of COVID-19 in the UK.

Please note: to be eligible, programmes being nominated need to have been available to UK-based audience and first broadcast, screened or published between 1 January and 31 December 2020 .

Please note: The 'Content Award' is generally aimed at recognising experienced, professional or regulated broadcasters and those working in the media. When making the 'Community Award' judges will be looking to recognise community or non-professional broadcasting projects generated outside mainstream national broadcasting networks. Only broadcasters, organisations or individuals based in the UK or R.O.I. are eligible for these awards.
Please describe the impact this broadcasting project has had or why you think it deserves to be considered for an award.
