A message from our Chair, Dr Tony Stoller CBE
“Despite the importance of broadcasting about religion and ethics, the amount of time and funding devoted to this kind of programming has dropped over the last decade. With the on-going debate about the future form and funding of the BBC and Channel 4, recent cuts to BBC local radio output and the weakening of requirements placed on public service broadcasters in the new Media Bill, discussion about the future of public service broadcasting is certain to continue. If the challenge is merely to prove the value, excellence and impact of the genre, then this year’s awards entrants are a showcase for the excellence of UK creatives working in this sector, and prove that content-makers are more than fit and ready for the future.”
